Quote:JACKSON TWP. FD<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">bought by a farmer chassis only, Dave i think this was only a high pressure engine no volume pump <p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"> <p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"> <p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">That is definately a High pressure only pump. There is no volume rating on it. I bet it would only be about 100 gpm at best.

Quote:interesting, i never knew this, i always thought for a high pressure only pump why did they carry hard tubes, thanks GA The high pressure pump was a piston pump, therefore it was positive displacement. When you had a high pressure pump only, it was plumbed so that you could draft to fill the tank or go direct to the booster reels. The pressure gauge on the discharge side went to an over optomistic 1000psi, but pump anything over 600psi, and the nozzle was hard to open.
