Just saw a SVI video on the Calgary AB High Rise truck, very interesting truck. Was wondering if anyone knows what kind of equipment is carried on the carts. Looks like there are some for SCBA, tools and lighting.
People complaining about spam in the spam mail box... Huh, what'll they think of next?

[/quote] I believe there are 10 roll out carts, each carries there own set of tools... so one cart would be for forceable entry tools, one for SCBA's, one for PPV fans?, etc... Here's the truck on SVI's website: http://svitrucks.com/apparatusdetails.as...atusid=331
This group of photos is from a local private collection. Several of these rigs have had photos posted on firepics previously, and although most are not " Canadian Rigs", I feel they number among one of the best restored collections owned by a Canadian, and thought I would group them together. There are only five apparatus, but all are restored professionally to original specs. The first apparatus is a 1924 ALF Type 38 Triple combination pumper with 600 GPM pump and 40 gallon chemical tank. ex Port Henry, NY.
This 1963 Mack C85F engine bears chassis # 12810, is dated 05/08/63 and was an ex Town of Menasha, Wisconsin engine. It has a 750 GPM pump and 800 gallon booster tank. This engine is fully operational, and the owner keeps the booster tank filled in case of a fire. ( He lives in a semi rural area with the closest fire station about 10 minutes away. )
The only aerial in the collection is this 1948 Bickle Seagrave Model 66EA 75 foot service aerial, SN # D 3855, an ex Toronto Ontario and ex St. Hubert Quebec apparatus. Again, everything on this truck is operational, and it has appeared in several local parades and celebrations recently.
This next engine formally served in Kenyon, Minnesota before it ended up here, and is a 1947 ALF 700 series engine with a 1000 GPM pump and 300 gallon water tank. It bears registration # L-3332
The last apparatus in the collection was restored by Andy Swift of FireFly Restorations and was a work in progress on and off for almost 4 years and finished and delivered last winter. Photos do not do this rig justice, as it just glows in the sunlight. As an example of the work that went into this restoration, the paint was applied by brush, sanded down, repeated several times, and finally finished with a hand applied coat of lacquer to give it a lusterous finish. The engine is a 1922 Ahrens Fox model JM2 with sn 1211 that served St. Paul, Minnesota.
Gibsons, BC - 2013 Pierce Impel - Details to follow. Had to shoot this at night because the department wanted the truck right away and I was working during daylight hours.

Pretty unusual tandem axle spread on the Blue Mountains rig.
