Fageol tank wagon.

Fageol was another SF Bay Area based truck builder. The company went bankrupt in during the depression and its assets were purchased by what later became Peterbilt.

SF has its own shop for building fire equipment. This is a department built horsedrawn Gorter monitor, many of these were later remounted on early motorized apparatus.

Mack hose tender / high pressure battery. It carries a large quantity of 5" hose in the bed. Originally ordered as a pumper and later converted into a hose tender by the department shops. This truck was still in service in 1989 and was used during the Loma Prieta earthquake.

1928 Kleiber 75 foot water tower. This water tower was originally built as a horse drawn unit in 1902. It remained in service as a special call apparatus into the 1970s.

1927 Mack with a 35 foot Gorter water tower. The SFFD still has two of these smaller Mack water towers which remained in use until 1971.

1960 American LaFrance Turbo Chief, one of 3(?) built with a turbine engine. Converted to a conventional gasoline engine after only a few years of service. The museum put the original chrome stack back on for appearances, but as far as I know it is still running the gas engine, not the turbine.
