I think Engine 5 was the only Snozzle equipped rig there.  It's a 2009 Oshkosh Striker 1250/4500/750/500DC/Snozzle.

Moving back up the road a piece, adjacent to Fairbanks is the North Pole, AK Fire Dept.  Nice bunch of folks there pulled everything out for me I think including this nice 1978 Emergency One-Hendrickson 1750/1000 pumper as Engine 2, job #765.

And here's a picture of their station at 110 Lewis Street in North Pole, AK.  Would have been nice if the sun had shone a little brighter but beggars can't be choosers I guess.

Ft. Wainwright Army Base in Fairbanks was a great visit as well but I really only got to shoot one of the stations because the other guys were all out on the huge forest fire nearby.  The Asst. Chief drives this 2000-something Chevy Suburban.

Ft. Wainwright just got a newer aerial so this one, a 1991 Pierce Arrow 1000/300/100' ladder, is on it's way to another army base in Alaska shortly.  It carries job #E5935-04.

I also managed to shoot several helicopters contracted to the Alaska Forestry Service.  Evergreen was the only one that actually resembled a fire service helicopter.  I also shot a ton of firefighting planes but don't want to bore you non-aviation lovers in the bunch with them.  So, first up for Evergreen is this MedEvac unit at Fort Wainwright Army Base.  It's a Bell 412, tail #N414EV.
