AS YOU CAN SEE IT STATES ENGINE 53-1 ON THE HOOD AND RESCUE 50 ON THE LICENSE PLATE. THIS WAS

ORGINALLY EAST END FIRE CO. ENGINE 53-1. WHEN THE STEELTON FIRE DEPT COMBINED THIS WAS MOVED

TO RESCUE 50.

Both of these are still in service. However, Springdale Township & Harmar Townships fire departments consolidated to form the Allegheny Valley Volunteer Fire Department. Both stations remain open. The 1983 will soon be going though.

Actually from Laurel,MD. VRS, a 1957 Herman Born & Sons (Baltimore,MD.) body that was on 3 different chassis at Laurel in 17 years. Sold to Reisterstown,MD. in 1974, and then sold again in 1978 to the Bucks CO.,PA. dept.It got out to Cumb. Valley in the early 1990's, it was OOS when Shoop,SR., and I were last there in 2010, reportedly privately owned in Bedford Co.

One additional tidbit; while at Reisterstown, it was stolen and taken for a joyride. It was recovered with minor damage.
