They have PA300 sirens which have Manual, Wail, Yelp, and Hi-Lo. But no Federal Q or anything. Just the one siren.

This is somewhat of a demo of what it can do...

Rather than bombard the thread with all of the pictures I got today, here is a link to my Flickr account. Tons of pictures from today including SOC-1's new 2013 Chevy Suburban.

Today is the ribbon cutting/grand opening. They will (should) be completely full duty from the new station after that.

The first few 1991 Seagraves came equipt with Federal Q2Bs in the nose... How ever, they found out they didnt spec a heavy enough electrical system and when they would lay on the siren, the radio would cut out. So, they retruned to the shop and had Pa-300 Electric sirens installed in the Q2B housing...

I'm not sure where you got your information but the policy of browning-out Engine 38 every night was rescinded when they moved into their own house. It was only in effect when they were running from Engine 18's house.

Jack I think he is saying since 38 is now officially back in service, they can be browned out like the other companies that Philly browns out daily, unless there is some kind of "logic" as to how they determine which companies get browned out per day.

Best in late afternoon, like 4 pm, once the sun is shining that late again....
