Not sure if this was on here a few years ago. This has an extended front bumper - the other one didn't. North Lindenhurst X-Eng 1111 - 1961 Mack C.

I think this one from North Lindy wound up in Calabash NC. I saw a North Lindy Mack C there a few years ago.

Port Jarvis NY 1981 Contenial Pem Fab chassis

Tri States Hose Co. 6 had this one from the winter of 1981/82 until July 2002 when it was replaced by a Pierce. The Pemfab was jinxed a little from the start when it was broadsided by a big snowplow, I think owned by NYDOT, and I think there were some other minor mishaps too. When the new Pierece was delivered, the city sold the Pemfab to the fire company for a very low price then the company sold it to a dealer in the midwest, I think Missouri. That dealer actually picked it up just before the start of the 153rd annual inspection parade hosted by Port Jervis FD on the Saturday of the first full weekend following July 4, 2002.

The last long distance out of town function the Pemfab attended was our 100th anniversary in Butler NJ, which is 40 miles south of Port Jervis, and it was literally falling appart with big rust holes in the body. When it was new, the Pemfab was a really good engine with rapid acceleration in a safe manner. I had the pleasure of riding it with my friends a few times such as parades and wetdowns and also on a couple of occasions when visitng their firehouse at a time when pumping details were requested -- once on a water shuttle to fill a new pool and another pumping water from a basement into the Delaware River. Three of us from Butler travelled to its summer 1982 nighttime wetdown by way of Elmira NY as we went in my car to American LaFrance's 150th Anniversary that morning -- only about 400 miles driving to Port Jervis.
