Here's a few that I took at work recently:

First off, the trucks in the stalls. I work at Truax Fire Department, Truax Field Air National Guard base located at Dane County Regional Airport (MSN). We are civilian firefighters who work for the Air National Guard. We also support the civilian FAA 139 index for that side of the airport.

We have a great view of the south end of the airfield and can watch stuff take off and depart 18/36 or 3/21 all day. 14/32 isn't really in good sight which is too bad since a lot of the GA stuff takes off there.

I get the best take off pictures when they use 18. The terminal and tower make for a good back drop.

I'm also a private pilot, so I have some toys to help me when I sit to take pictures. On quiet weekends I spend a lot of time sitting outside shooting pictures of opportunity.

I can't take or post pictures of the F-16's at our base, but I can take pictures of transient aircraft that come through. We get a lot of neat stuff coming through like these T-38's from Vance AFB. I even got a wave out of these guys.

There were eight total T-38's in the group. These were the only two that took off simultaneously.

Kind of cool to see the GA and commercial together.

We are an ARFF index C airport based off our most common "large" visitor, the A-320 operated by Delta and Frontier here.

Why can't you photograph the F-16s located on your base?

The same reason why some FD won't allow you to take pictures of their appartus. Then you will know what the look like(duh). But fly one into an airshow an you can take as many as you want. I alays wanted to ask a chief or military officer what tacical advantage do you think a potential terrorsit is going to have by have phpts of you aircraft of fire appartus? Narrow minded thinking.
