Seagrave has FINALLY launched a new website, after over a year of not one update on their old site.

Apparently, they are calling themselves "FWD Seagrave" now.

Nice to see the redesigned web site from them, let's hope they keep it updated and keep improving it.  I also hope they are serious about making changes would love to see them come out of the past 10-15 years of making doing business with them difficult.  Still beleive in my mind they are one of if not the best built trucks around. 

 

I sold them for a short time about 8 years ago, dealer and company issues made selling almost impossible.  Had a demo aerial sold as long as it was delivered to MI from NJ within 5 weeks, would you beleive they couldn't make it happen!  The department moved on to the next bidder and has since purchased 4 apparatus from them including three pumpers and a heavy rescue.  In addition we had a mini-pumper and platform sold as long as we could turn specs and drawings around in under 4 weeks.  Both times they didn't get it done and the dept's moved on, oh well you can't win them all and obviously sometimes even when you win them you still loose.    Oh well I still love them.

If your talking a platform we delivered two (2) to Grand Rapids, MI back in 2004. 

 

New London, WI has or at least had a 2004 Seagrave Concord rear mount TowerMax platform.

 

Utica, NY I think has a 2001 Marauder TowerMax platform

 

Long Beach, CA I think has a 2006

 

That's what I can come up with off the top of my head, at least from 2000-2006.

I know that Seagrave discontinued the manufacture of the old Apollo 3-Section RM Tower back in the 2003 timeframe and then used the RK tower from 2004 thru 2006 that was called the "TowerMax".  Around this timeframe and right after Seagrave stopped using the RK product, I heard that Tom Shand (back when he was with Seagrave) was working on a newer version of the Apollo tower but I thought that this effort was dead.  Apparently not but it was hard to tell since they rarely advertise or even update their website up until now.  It looks like Seagrave is using a platform very similar to the one used on the Aerialscope on the Apollo II.

You have that correct from what I know, the Grand Rapids units were originally assigned by Graves as Apollo's but then switched to TowerMax.  It was the RK product overall I thought it was a good platform, but thought it could have been improved upon.

 

Tom was supposedly working on an update and I was gone before him so I'm not sure what happened.  Had heard talk even back then about using the Aerialscope platform on the Apollo/TowerMax product.  Seagrave has gone thru a lot of good people with great ideas, but it seems to me that management has held them back most of the time.  Hopefully that's changing and Seagrave can make a resurgence.

Yeah Cadillac's is a 1994.  Most of my records span from 2000-2006 but I have a few older one's as well.

My records don't show the Auburn, IN unit which I think is because it's a earlier than 1996 unit.  I have no idea why Huron, OH units don't show up as they do have a 1997 platform, perhaps for some reason Cornelius or Oakland did not take delivery of their rig and Huron purchased it.

We bought a ALF/LTI 100' RM tower back in 2002.  We tried to get a bid from Seagrave for an Apollo for this truck purchase but things were messed up back then with the local dealership in the area and we couldn't get a bid.

According to their website it's a 2006 not sure why it's not on my list I will have to check and see what it's cut off date in 2006 was.

Pocono Twp, PA has an 2009 rear mount tower.  Their website says the aerial is an RK.
