[/quote]I think these ladders and the engines currently in productions are the first large apparatus purchased by the county in this new paint scheme. I recall seeing at least one SUV done up like this previously. As I recall reading somewhere along the line, the switch was based more on economics than aesthetics. Supposedly white over red fire apparatus have better resale/trade value and/or generate more interest among departments looking to purchase used apparatus. So, the county switched.

This photo was taken at the Supreme Lighting Company located on Main Street at Route-1 in Laurel, was a 3 Alarm fire, bringing units from Prince George's, Anne Arundel, Montgomery, and Howard Counties to the scene...
