Glad you are feeling better & back to shooting rigs again. It worked out for the best not coming to NC because that Thursday & Friday were the only decent days weather wise.

That is very true! Variety is always better. The only bidders they had were KME, Pierce and Rosenbauer. FYI - if you get down towards Savannah, we (Pooler) just bought a 41 Mack pumper as a parade piece.

My apologies once again for backing out of that trip.  I got worse before I got better.  I'll explain further next time I see you.  I'd still like to do that trip one of these days.  Unfortunately, you can never "plan" what the weather will be, only hope for the best.  Many years ago, Jon and I met up in Greenville.  The sky was overcast with predictions of widespread rain, but we pressed on.  No worrying about shadows that day.  We ended up with 16 rigs and the pics came out just fine!

I have several "targets" in the Savannah region on my list, including Pooler.  I'll let you know when I decide to head that way.

What manufacturer are they looking at?  I heard that they were also looking at replacing the TDA's as well.  Maybe a package deal???

I haven't heard anything about DeKalb replacing their TDA's, but it wouldn't surprise me, those things are getting old.  They were originally built in 1988 and refurbed in 2002.  I know 20's is still running one and maybe 2's is also, but where is the third one?

I "thought" 23's got the tiller when 1's got the Sutphen.  That's been a while ago though, something might have changed since then.  On the engines, it looks like Pierce, Rosenbauer, and KME for preliminary bids results.  That should be interesting.

Is DeKalb returning to real Q Sirens. Looks to be a real Q completely flush mounted. I know for a long time they have been buying the EQ2b siren with the BP speaker grill. Thanks in advance. Rick

You are correct, L-1 got 23's Sutphen and 23 got the tiller.  Then L-1 got a newer Sutphen.  Their website shows 23 with a Sutphen, although that could be outdated.

It is not, those rigs are 1000 GPM.  Up until they got the HME/Luverne pumpers, all DeKalb engines were 1000 GPM.  The HME/Luverne's were 1250 GPM, the Spartan/Saulsbury and Spartan/Luverne rigs were 1500 GPM, but then they returned to 1000 GPM for the Spartan/Crimson, Spartan/Central States, Spartan/Rosenbauer, and these new rigs.  I'm pretty sure all the Sutphen quints are 1500 GPM.
