Engine 1 in a reserve Dash.
A quick weekend on the coast got me pretty much nothing (I couldn't even stick around for Firehouse World!). Oh well, I'll be back out there for Spring Break to try again.
I did manage to catch Engine 22 on the ramp (in a reserve). San Diego Reserve Engine 1553 (running as 22's) 20xx Spartan/Saulsbury 1500/500 S/N 35026W

When I was out in San Diego in 2005 e22 had a four person crew and they were all women.
Spent another great week on the 'coast and actually managed to catch a few rigs, including one that I REALLY wanted.
For now, here's a little teaser... Engine 4's still running the same 2003 Pierce Dash 1500/500. S/N 14868.

Here's Engine 1 in a reserve 2002 Pierce Dash 1500/500. S/N 13045-08.
I asked the Engineer where the KME's went and (not to start the old apparatus debate yet again) got the answer that the KME's were [insert favorite derogatory term here...] and they're going away (not sure about what that means, but they're at least being moved out of the busier stations). So, both Engine 1 and 201 have Arrow XT's, but Engine 1's XT is back at Pierce getting some warranty work done, so they're in this reserve. I didn't see Engine 201 this time, but I went by the shops and saw at least half a dozen new XT's getting prepped.

The 2006 KME pumps are being replaced with 8 2012 Pierce Arrow XTs. Engines 1, 201, 15, 27, 34, 38, 39 and 45. The replaced rigs will be placed in reserve.
A new order of Pierce engines is coming in shortly. I believe that the 2007 KME engines will be replaced by this batch. I'm not positive on how many rigs are included on this order, but my assumption is that all 8 remaining frontline KME engines will be replaced, making the entire frontline engine fleet Pierce.
How do they like the Crimson Tiller Truck 1 is running?.
Speaking of Arrow XT's... (I'm really glad to see that some Dept's are NOT going with the dull clear LED warning lights...)

Here is the rig I've been trying to get for several weeks and two trips out there:

Crash 3 assigned to Lindbergh Field.
There are 8 new Pierce engines at the factory. I have a question, where do they keep their SCBA on their engines?

People complaining about spam in the spam mail box... Huh, what'll they think of next?
