Are these guys trying to have a tanker of every size: 1000, 1500, 2000, 3000? Is a 2500 next? Ought to make for an interesting shuttle.

From what Andrew was telling me, the US Tankers were purchased as a package deal they couldn't refuse. The original purchase I think was just going be the 3,000 gallon tanker then US Tanker gave them the option to purchase the 2,000 gallon one at a reduced price.

Looking through some of my pictures, I realized I haven't posted these shots from the Caldwell County muster back in September of 2012.

Here is a so-so shot of Truck 1. I plan to get this truck posed at a later date when a certain shift that I work with better is on shift.

I was in Downtown WS last Tuesday, just before lunch and was hoping to shoot Station 1 units. I was around the corner at Cherry & 7th, heard someone roll on a call. Got to the station and found out both Engine and Truck 1 were out. Only units in qtrs. were the P/U that pulls the Air Utility trailer, I believe and the steamer. Better luck next time! Not surprising. Both the engine and truck run a lot of smells & bells calls in the downtown area passing by my office at the Public Safety Center at Cherry & 8th all the time. All of the guys at station 1 are pretty cool with visitors stopping in & getting pictures but some are better than others.

Btw, I assume Rescue 1 was shot in the backyard of FS 1? On a couple of occasions I've got them while they were sitting in front of their house at 7s.
Yes, my shot of Rescue 1 was taken behind Station 1 but R1 runs out of the Arbor Road Station where they cross-staff Engine 7.

Over the next few days, I will be posting a bunch of pictures from recent trips. Climax FD is combination department near the Guilford/Randolph County line with a station in each county. Station 35's first due is primarily in Guilford. Ironically, Guilford also has a Horneytown VFD about 25 minutes away from Climax (insert clever joke here ).
