Newark, NJ Battalion Chief gig. It was ordered thru a shared grant between PD & FD, hence the dual graphics. It is used only by the FD.

No one knows. At the moment there is no apparatus on order and no money has been appropriated so nothing is happening. When money is available they will begin the bidding process open to all. (hopefully!)

What's the idea behind Newark having so many different paint schemes? White/Blue, Lime/Blue, Lime/Yellow, it appears now they're getting better about it. Although I'm more than over Red fire trucks, I'd rather they go to Red then have so many mis-matched trucks.

It appeared as if the White/Blue E\-One engine they have, had almost all Blue lights on it?

There are many paint/graphic schemes. In about 1972 the NFD switched from red to Lime/white. This lasted until late 1997 when the white/blue came along. (yes, all the lower lights were blue) At times rigs were re-painted so the odd colors and graphics. In 2006, when the new administration came into power, the decision was made to return to all red apparatus. Since that time all apparatus, new or re-paint are red. Other than Special Operations, all small vehicles remain white with red graphics. Because it takes so long to replace apparatus, it is a while before all apparatus are the same color/graphics! We don't worry about the color of the trucks, Its hard enough to make sure we have enough working vehicles in service each day! The only time a truck gets re-painted is when it is in an accident and insurance money will pay for it!

As for the colors, Yes, Newark went from red to lime-yellow and white with a red stripe added later, then from what I heard, and corrections are welcome, the white with blue stripes were part of a plan of a public safety department (the police cars had the same colors)  There are a few white rigs with red stripes, red with white stripes , red with blick stripes, and now the present red with a yellow stripe.  Seeing that the forum was requested, Thanks, looking for more....
