1963 INTERNATIONAL VCO/1962 AMERICAN LAFRANCE 100'
DAVE BOWEN PHOTO
THIS WAS RUNNING AS HYATTSVILLE TRUCK 1 WHEN I SHOT IT.
This rig was ex-Philadelphia Fire Department, The tractor was a former Engine, while the Trailer was a 700 series ALF. Purchased by PG County as a Reserve Truck.
MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY HAD A MEETING WITH THE COUNTY LAST WEEK TO GET A FIRE COMPANY BACK IN OPERATION. NO DECISION WAS MADE.
More on the situation at Co.12 is that there is a group raising funds to try and buy out the department ( all equipment, apparatus, and fire hall). If they are unable to do so then they will go to the county and ask for a new department to be formed and go about purchasing the equipment.
With Co.12 being OOS the neighboring companies of Sharpsburg Fire Co.1, Williamsport Fire/EMS Co.2, Boonsboro Fire Co.6,Funkstown Fire Co.10 and Sharpsburg EMS Co.19 have less than a 1% failed response.
Washington County Fire and EMS have established Washington County Support 14. Co.14 which is a first response unit is stationed at the Washington County Agriculture Center. They are running the former Unit 194 from the Sharpsburg EMS Co.19

I am interested in all of the equipment and apparatus used in fire fighting and ems service.

Actually, Philadelphia purchased the tractor new to repower a 1949 American LaFrance trailer with an 85 foot aerial. While in service in Philadelphia the rig was assigned to Ladder 19 in South Philadelphia.
