I am interested in all of the equipment and apparatus used in fire fighting and ems service. Quote:What exactly is a ladder support rig and is this a active unit for the company? No it is in private ownership. The engine came out of Landsdown Pa. Owings Mills bought it around 1998 to run while their truck was being refurbed. A Ladder Support unit is basically a support piece for a ladder company that does not have an aerial.
Maybe Owings Mills could follow their ladder truck with it like LA City does! I also remember when Owings Mills had a chrome-yellow open cab WLF that I think began life with Hyattsville VFD in Prince George's County.

We have a VERY similar rig to this. Absolutely amazing... This photo is from back when it was in service... Same year as well. (Hope you don't mind I added the photo.) Still have it as a parade rig.
