5/15/13 High Speed MVA Gresham, OR
#1
At approximately 6:40pm dispatch reported a two car MVA at Highway 26 and Hillyard Rd. I left as soon as I heard the initial dispatch since I knew this was a bad intersection. By the time I reached my car it was upgraded to a pin-in with one car on fire and Life Flight was placed on standby due to the location, severity of the accident and time of day. I arrived on scene right behind the first due engine.

First shot walking up.

A view from the other side.

You can see the car that was struck by the high speed driver was completely torn into two pieces and the motor was several hundred feet from the car. Needless to say the driver did not survive the collision.

Horrendous scene. I heard the driver of the intact car went by a cop running radar at over 100mph not far from the wreck.

Of course, he survived. It happens so often, an innocent driver is killed and the perp survives.

Very sad, indeed.  I hope that Oregon has strong Manslaughter sentences...

That's the second set of photos involving a Mercedes S series at high speed (i.e. the Denver car-into-house set from yesterday).

Great Shots. Very sad that the innocent had to suffer because of some idiots need for speed.
