Spring also runs a pair of these unique rigs, a combination of a heavy rescue, hose wagon and high capacity pump.  Each carries 5000' of 6" supply hose.

Next, I was able to locate someone at Station 34 in Klein, one of two unstaffed stations that house a heavy rescue.

My next stop was Champions.  They are holding a fundraiser for one of their own.  The Houston Fire Captain who lost both legs in the recent LODD fire is also a member of the Duty Crew at Champions.  Check the Champions website for more info (http://www.esd29.org/).

The last FD I would hit that day was Cy-Fair, a 12 station combination department that covers the communities of Cypress and Fairbanks. Stations 3, 5, 8, 9 and 10 have daytime Duty Crews.

I wanted a shot of Ladder 7, but it is assigned to an unstaffed station.  When I arrived at Station 9, I found out that it was in service, replacing Tower 9 which is at Pierce for collision repairs.  Sometimes, I just get lucky!

Those E-Ones are definitely unique!

Cy-Fair has always had some sharp rigs in my opinion.  Are they entirely volunteer?
