not a full size ambulance, Metro North Fire-EMS brigade that covers Grand Central Terminal.  Very rare to see it out, it is usually keep at its charging station unless needed.

It is being repaced in the next few months with a new custom unit . The rescue truck was just recently replaced . I am the career Captain assigned to the GCT station .

Who rides in the back if they each only have one person assigned?

If I'm not mistaken, a patrol unit responds with the civilian Paramedic staffed unit to complete the crew and probably drive the ambulance to the hospital in most, if not all cases.

 

I'm not sure about the officer staffed unit.  Maybe the same thing happens if that officer is also a Paramedic.

That is Willingboro, NJ in Burlington County. NJ. It looks that photo was taken at the Philadelphia Fire Academy during a muster held in October. IIRC the Cadillac was not a Willingboro original but bought by the Squad and restored under their colors.
