E8 and E9 are done.  They're on Fire Service Inc.'s Facebook page.  Don't think they've been delivered yet.

We were obviously at the same fire. I have the same shot but from the officer's side. That was at the big, for lack of a better term, rubbish fire in the old Milwaukee Road rail yard  way back a long time ago

yes they are both done however when i was at station 8 and 9 in mid june they said it would be late august or early september before they were in service however they said that there were no other apparatus being purchased this year because of budget issues. So as far as the brush trucks and the buggies i highly doubt it unless they found some spare money laying around somewhere. Who knows maybe Joliet Jake got the money to the cook county assessors office and they can afford new vehicles now. Who Knows????? HAHA

I lived in Mt. Prospect from when I was born in 1977 until we moved to California in 1985. I vividly remember this rig being Engine 14. It's probably one of the rigs that got me interested in this hobby when I was a kid. Thanks for posting.

The Bensenville rig was Squad 83.  It was a 62 International / Darley with a 250 gpm pump 200 gal tank with a booster reel.  It carried mostly salvage and basic extrication equipement. I started there in 82 as a cadet and it was pretty much done for. I  was there the day they took it out of service to send it to the auction. I don't know where it went after that.  At one time Bensenville was an all international/darley department til the early 70's

Is that a Darley with bodywork by Pierce? The rear fender wells look like the Pierce fender wells etc. I know some of the Darley trucks wore Pierce bodies, but not sure of the time frame.
