Does Abington still have the Young Crusader?
Are you talking about Abingdon in Gloucester County or the other Abingdon in Washington County? I don't know about a Young Crusader ever running in Gloucester County.

Quote:Does Abington still have the Young Crusader? Virginia has two different Abingdons, on completely different ends of the state (almost 400 miles apart). You're probably thinking of the one in Southwest Virginia. They didn't operate a Young Crusader, but the Marion Fire Department, a few miles north on I-81 from Abingdon, did. They once operated the ex-Nanuet, NY Crusader aerial. That was replaced in the 2003 time frame with a couple of E\-One quints (with dual Roto-Rays, nevertheless). No word on it's fate once it left Marion.

Quote:VA Beach Engine 17I see you ventured out into Sandbridge. When we lived in Massachusetts, the family vacation was out there every year; great place, nice and quiet. Quote:Trey,Thanks Jeff....As of now Engine 19 is in a Reserve 1997 Pierce Quantum.....They will keep this until a New Standard Pumper is ordered. Engine 20 also had their Squrt taken away and they will run a Reserve as well until they also get a Standard Pumper. Engine 20 was reassigned to the Reserve Fleet.

I haven't been down to VA Beach in a while and like to keep up with the apparatus. I found a picture of E19 from mid July on Facebook and they were using F079 (1997 Quantum). I didn't think they were still using any of the older Quantum pumpers for reserves since all the 2002 ALFs were replaced the past few years. Jeff
Abington, Marion, Atlantic Ocean. Appalachian Mountains. A llittle geography lesson never hurts.

The last time I was by FS8 they had an ALF/Squirt, no Tower, and the Rescue Squad was still running out of there. I was suprised to see they had their own station. My brother in law took me around to see the new stations that are around Ruddee's inlet. Pretty nice.
Are you sure it was Station 8.They never had a TeleSquirt @ 8.
