Ok, what is with the pump panels on the Buffalo trucks?  Two inlets, three gauges? No discharges?

You talking the aerials?

If so, they're probably dry trucks (no pump/water).

Buffalo's aerials carry no water or hose.  The pumps are only used to boost pressure to the aerial streams.  The only discharges are on the officer side.

This is an idea I like, I am a purest at heart (don't chase me with the pitch forks and torches) and never liked the whole Quint idea.  A truck with a  pump to boost pressure to the aerial though is a good idea and one I am fully behind!
