Several companies still make them Rosenbauer,Smeal and I think Pierce is offering them again. Not sure how cost effective it is over just buying a 4dr cab but I know at least you have the room to move around in the back of them so I am not sure why you dont see more of them seem pretty function on a commercial cab

One thing I can maybe see is cross lays are under the seats. I know if you got the 4dr cab the cross lays would be under the pump controls.  You save some wheel base there,not much but some.   I know the HME we got the cross lays wer under the controls and it added another Ft-1/2 to the truck.

Several weeks ago the Kirkwood Fire School was held at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids.

A burn building was brought in by the Iowa Division of the Fire Marshall and towed by this rig.

Several departments from the area brought in rigs, this one from Coralville.

Across the way a rig from Newhall, IA was supplying another burn trailer.
