My Guess would be the Power Arc light with the angle sweep of the lights they are not needed. Also do I see some small LED style light under the grill but above the bumper.

You are correct. With the motion of the PowerArcs it is not needed to have any on the grill.

As for the LED's above the bumper. I zoomed in on them, and they appear that they might be. I'm not sure though. Next time I see one I will let you guys know. Mehlville has three identical ambulances running.

Here is a front view of the same ambulance.

Here is one of the identical ambulances running as medic 1727. In this shot it doesnt show anything lit up under the grill, so I would say they arent LED's.

No offense to the dept but looks like the air horns are slightly askew

The Mehlville ambulance in #418 and #424 is actually a '05 model, my mistake. Medic 1717 and 1727 run the '06 models. As for the airhorns, I would say they hit something.

Upper Valley EMS of Vermont...Not too often that you see this kind of heavy duty ambulance in this part of Boston let alone one from upstate Vermont, a nice change of pace on this hectic day in the city...

Isn't Acadian building their own boxes now?

The shops are building some, maybe around 12-15 a year.It isnt enough to cover the number of remounts and new units though so they still have to buy a few.Our trucks are supposed to be remounted at 240k miles but due to volume of trucks hitting that its not happening. My current unit,232(the one above) is sitting at 253k miles. My wifes truck was pulled at around 230k,but it was having major problems so they took it early which sometimes happens. The shop built trucks are based off a Frazer spec(generator for the box,big HVAC unit, multiple lights on box front instead of a light bar etc.) if I remember right. Our trucks are strictly chevy except some fords acquired during buying other services and a special buy that was done last year to supplement the fleet. Some trucks are still running the 6.0 gas engine, but all new stuff I believe are Duramax.

This is a 1970's Cadillac Ambulance that was restored by a collector. It was showcased at the JEMS Today conference in Baltimore. It is a great show piece with the actual equipment from that era.
