New Haven 922 Winchester Ave dwelling fire 03/01/15

New Haven Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire on the top floor of this two and a half, wood frame around three thirty a.m. Companies initially made an interior attack, but were withdrawn do to a water supply issue. The fire soon took hold of the top floor and went through the roof. An exterior attack took about forty five minutes to darken down the fire before companies would regain entry to overhaul. All primary searches proved negative except for the removal of one family pet, a cat, which was found on the first floor. Several families were displaced. No one was injured in the blaze.

The fire occurred shortly after the snow stopped, we ended up with 6" so the streets were pretty bad.
