Iowa Rigs
Quote:Rescue rig.  This is a former Linn-Mar School District bus which also serves as a rolling gear carrier and goes to all major calls.  Many of  Olin's volunteers live outside of town so they will meet the bus at the scene.
That's a great idea.

Great set of photos. Rural departments have such a great variety of interesting rigs. Makes a nice change from 8,000 identical ones that all look the same.

Thank you, GA_Dave.  I neglected to write down where the pumpers had come from.

Next stop in Jones County is the little town of Center Junction.  This department has four rigs, the first is a tanker that was acquired from a farming company near Clinton.

Next stop in Jones County is Martelle.  Martelle is just southwest of Anamosa, and southeast of Stone City, where stone was quarried for many years.
