Thursday was the last day of the trip.  The weather was drizzling and foggy, but not raining, so we hit several stations at Big Canoe, then called it a day and headed home.  Overall, it was a productive trip, in spite of the bad weather.

Marion County, TN is a very rural area and visiting there is like taking a big step back in time.  There are numerous older fire apparatus there and those were the gems we were hunting.

I believe I have posted this one before, but back then it was equipped with a 55' Snorkel.  With the purchase of the 75' quint, the DFD removed the Snorkel and this old girl now serves as a reserve engine.

was the snorkel a retrofit, then removed?  I have in Howie Smith's list #3273 as Greenville, NY with no mention of a snorkel

As it was told to me, they purchased the Maxim in 1975 and it was delivered as an engine, then was sent to Snorkel to have the boom added.  Based on what they said, I don't think it was ever in service anywhere else.

This engine was purchased by Big Canoe and was assigned as Dawson County Engine 6 for many years.  Station 6 is owned by Big Canoe, but is located in nearby Dawson County.  When the County purchased the three Pierce Contenders, this one was moved to Big Canoe Station 2.
