This was just a grab shot. They were having some kind of large event with a lot of people, and just so happened this rig was sitting outside. I quickly grabbed this shot and hit the road.

The best I can understand, this truck is a kitbash made by Sutphen in 2005. The cab & chassis had an aerial that failed. The aerial mounted on this truck was mounted on a cab & chassis that was damaged someway (fire?, wreck?, mechanical issues?). They took the good cab & chassis and the good aerial and made one good truck out of them. It was sold to Enka-Candler, NC who ran it for several years, before selling it to Cooleemee, NC.

Before purchasing "Engine 5" which you'll see in a few posts, this ARFF truck doubled as the "structural" engine of GSP's fleet. They had E\-One modify the truck to have a hosebed on top capable of carrying 1200' of 5" LDH hose. Apparently this was one of, if not the first E\-One ARFF truck to have a hosebed of this type on top of it.

It sure is Dave! Rescue 1 was down for repairs that day, but I had shot it a while back during my first visit to Station 7.
