School Fire, Portland 8-25-2015
#1
These are the fires that never make the headlines.

Just after 2 AM, Engine 19 was dispatched to a fire alarm at the Harrison Park School, formerly named the Binnsmeade School. There was nothing showing when they arrived, but Vinnie, the driver, noticed a window that seemed obscured by smoke so they called for a box.

Filling out the assignment was E11, 7, 25, T7, T25, R19, SQ1, C3 & C4.

When 19 gained entry they found a fire in a doorway between two classrooms that had extended to the walls and ceilings.

They had laid a 2-1/2 through the building, so they were able to get a quick knockdown and confine the fire to the two rooms.

On August 11, 2003, the same school was the scene of a 4-alarm fire.

There was a small fan that was plugged into the wall. The Investigator determined that to be the cause.

Great catch by an alert crew! That is the way it is supposed to be done.
