9-5-2015 2nd Alarm Store Front Church Las Vegas NV
#1
At around 6:54 pm this evening I heard Las Vegas and Clark County Units get paged out for a working structure fire at 5000 W. Oakey Blvd. It was a store front church. The first engine on the scene, Engine 6 which came from just down the street called a working fire and the first in Battalion Chief struck a 2 Alarm due to the type of Structure and access issues.

Units on the Scene are as follows:

ENGINES 5, 6, 44, 10, 3, 22, 15, AND 12

TRUCKS 22, 6, AND 43

RESCUES 6 AND 5

EMS 1

CBRNE 3

AIR RESOURSE 1

BATTALIONS 4, 6, 10, AND 1

By the time I got there which was only about 10 minutes after it was marked as a working fire and then a 2nd Alarm they pretty much alread had knock down. I could smell the smoke but there wasn't any header, etc.

Just a couple pictures for now and I will post more tommorow.

Clark County Engine 12 staged out on Oakey.

From what I have seen they function as a first responder for medical, major accidents scense, HAZMAT, and on fire ground. Their primary duty is HAZMAT but they respond on just about anything else. The City of Las Vegas Fire Department has a Heavy Rescue Company that responds on all major rescue calls and fires.

Heavy Rescue 44 responds on all major alarms. The picture below is of Heavy Rescue 44 on the Scene of the Cosmopolitan Hotel fire earlier this summer.

LAS VEGAS FIRE RESCUE 6 IN ONE OF THE NEW 2015 CHEVY/ROAD RESCUES ON THE SCENE. I LOVE THE WAY THE NEW GRAPHICS STAND OUT WHEN HIT WITH LIGHTS.
