looked up the pricing because i thought like you did, but surprizingly on the site that I used the cost was almost the same (as the Freedom edge series)....wouldve liked to see how that thing lights up though....

Was told by our rep when we bought one of our ambulances that lighting prices were based solely on number of modules. 10 LEDs costs the same as 10 LEDs.

This truck is pretty unique in the fact it is a countywide Rescue/support unit. It runs with a crew of 4 on all working fires, pin-ins, and any other call requested for extra manpower. The personnel supplement the struggling volunteer/combination depts in the county. The county I live in runs a similar rig but only has two assigned personnel assigned at any given time.
