California, MD Tower 9 2000 Spartan/LTI 93' Bay District VFD was founded in 1943 as the Lexington Park Fire Department. It's incorporation was due to Patuxent Naval Air Station declining to provide fire protection to the town. Station 9 (built in the 90s?) protects California, MD which sits between Lexington Park and Hollywood. Each Bay District station operates an Engine, Engine-Tanker, Aerial, and Brush. Station 3 houses the district's heavy rescue.

Waldorf Station 12 is located on the West side of the district in the rapidly growing West Lake neighborhood. It houses a ladder, rescue-engine, engine, tanker, two brush trucks, two ambulances, and in true SoMD fashion, multiple utility vehicles.
