12/06/15 New Haven, CT 155 Clay St 2nd alarm dwelling fire

12/06/15 New Haven, CT - First due Engine 10 reported a three story, wood frame with heavy fire on the second and third floors. The dwelling was occupied at the time of the fire. This prompted the transmission of the second alarm by orders of the battalion chief. All the occupants made it out safely. Companies made an interior attack before being backed out in favor of a quick exterior knockdown. Companies were then able to go in and finish up. The fire also extended to a similar style dwelling on the number four side. It was quickly brought under control. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
