seattle new rigs
Can someone explain the function of "Marine 1" the Pierce Heavy Rescue????  IS it a new unit, is it cross staffed and where is it housed?  Thanks.

Reply
The rig carries equipment specific to marine incidents, including: firefighting, confined space rescue, flooding, hazmat, and pollution control. It's the 2006 Pierce that was assigned to Rescue 1. It is cross-staffed and housed at Station 36 along with Engine 36.

Does Seattle still run a Hose Wagon out of Station 18?  If so, is it still the Kenworth???  Thanks.

Hose 18 is still a Kenworth, the only KW engine still in service.  It will eventually be replaced by a 1995 E\-One Cyclone (955401).

Is there still a wagon at Station 34 as well?

A 1996 E\-One (965410) is in the process of being outfitted at the shops to fill the void at station 34.  I will check on the progress.

What is in the cabinet at the end of the hose.  Or is that to protect the coupling.

Post #217 has a photo of the manifold that's located inside of that cabinet

Does anyone know if the Pacific NW Thread is still active. It has a * next to it and not sure what that means and no one has posted anything since April.  Thanks
