Loving the looks of those New style Enforcers for Baltimore . Any one know why they have not chosen the Arrow XT chassis for their Pumpers?

Quote:Loving the looks of those New style Enforcers for Baltimore . Any one know why they have not chosen the Arrow XT chassis for their Pumpers?I don't know their reasoning, but from looking at vehicles last year for my department and talking to the Pierce dealer rep, the new Enforcer seemed to have a more open/roomier feel to it. The engine tunnel is flat and seemed a little lower compared to the Arrow XT. The rep stated that the Enforcer has a little more room in the driver/officer areas compared to the Arrow XT and has comparable durability. From what I saw, if we'd gone with Pierce, I would've selected the Enforcer over the Arrow XT for those reasons. I don't recall what the pricing difference was between the 2 chassis, but I think they were somewhat close if similarly equipped.
The enforcer chassis is cheaper compared to the Arrow XT, mainly due to being built on the 10.25" frame rails similar to other manufacturers. The XT has 13.38" frame rails, so the Enforcer also sits a little lower, there is more driver and officer room even with the 500hp Detroit in it. We have an 2009 Arrow Xt platform and our 4 new engines and tiller are on the Enforcer. Overall, the Enforcer is a really good chassis at a competitive price.
