OK I did some searching on-line but could not find anything what is the back story on the union jack in the grille?

 

I really like it when departments personalize units so seeing something other than the US flag in the grille is pretty

unique and cool in my book.  The us flags are cool in their own right, but whenever you see something other than

that I tend to take notice.
