I thought that I read it was purchased by the Airbus Company, and donated?
I think that was Rescue 1's original replacement unit following 9/11.  One of the E\-One/Saulsbury units.

I find it hilarious that the department that is arguably hardest on apparatus is liking the apparatus who is known for building lemons.

My immediate first thought on this rig was that it looks like the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree of Fire Engines. Poor thing.

Unfortunately the lowest bidder wins. We can't chose the manufacturer. I haven't heard much more on the bids. I'll find out more when i get back to the firehouse

One good thing is Ferrara's already built a round of Rescues for FDNY, as well as Ladders. So they now have some experience with the department, so they will most likely use that direct, hands on experience to improve on the new generations of the product.
