Yes, Fireball.  That was the name first given to the Sutphen 65' quint, in 1980.  After a few years, around 1987, they were redesignated as model SA-65.

My last stop of the day was Millersville.  I have passed by this volunteer station many times, but this was the first time anyone was there.  In addition to a couple brush rigs, they have two engines and a tanker.  Unfortunately, the tanker had no carburator (new one on order) and their 1975 Hahn pumper, x-Brockport, NY, wouldn't start, not even with a jump.  The engine below was donated to them and came from the Snohomish County, WA.  They were unsure of the history behind it and there were no clues on the truck itself.

Yes, Fireball.  That was the name first given to the Sutphen 65' quint, in 1980.  After a few years, around 1987, they were redesignated as model SA-65.

   On the 15th, I'll be heading to Florida for several days of apparatus photography, making this my last post here until I return.  This is one of three new rigs for Henry County, GA, purchased for new Stations 14, 15 and 16.  The new stations and apparatus were paid for through SPLOST funds.  Station 14 will open shortly, Station 15 about a month later, but Station 16 is about a year out.  In the meantime, that engine is being stored at Station 13 and was pressed into service when their primary apparatus went into the shops.
