Great pictures as always Dave!  \It looks like you guys had a successful Winter Thaw trip.  I hope you're feeling better.  Quit that bad stuff!  Oh, and don't be such a stranger!

I went out Tuesday and added these two rigs.  These will be my last posts for a while, as I will be on a hunting trip with fellow Firepix member Jon Umbdenstock for a couple weeks.  I sure hope we have better weather than we did two years ago!

I have returned from my little outing with Jon.  The weather was better than two years ago and we shot more apparatus.  My totals for this trip were 192 new apparatus, 35 better shots of previously shot apparatus and 10 for the "Once is not enough" thread.  Jon's totals were higher since we visited numerous locations that I have photographed before.

Dave, nice photos again.

I have one question. I noted, that you usually have a very large output of fire apparatus on your trips. Do you normally contact the FD's in advance or do you just come by ?

Thanks

With career FD's, I usually just drop in.  With VFD's, I try to obtain a contact person/number in advance.  Making "appointments" rarely works, as it is nearly impossible to predict weather and arrival times beforehand.  It isn't foolproof, but I seem to have the best success this way.  Being persistant also helps!
