Rosenbauer Feedback
#1
My dept is currently working specing and pricing a new walk around heavy rescue. Our truck committee has met with 4 manufactures so far, one of them being Rosenbauer. I'm looking for feedback on how well built of a truck they are. There is only 1 Commander Chassis truck in our area so its hard for us as a truck committee to get much feedback on the trucks and the company. We've looked at them the last 2 years out at FDIC and for the most part, have liked what we have seen. We've also spoken with other firefighters at FDIC about them, getting mostly positive reviews. Obviously, they are going to be like any manufacture and have their lemons or bad builds. The more feedback I can take to the rest of the committee the better we will be.

Thanks.

They seem to be getting more and more popular, there must be a reason...other then low bid. But I wonder how many repeat customers are they getting?

We have two, one a 2005 and the other a 2006.  They're both the EXT body (Minnesota built) and they have held up very well.  I'd consider re-mounting the 2006 when the chassis gets rough.  The 2005 just doesn't fit our operations like intended when purchased, so I'd just assume replace it with something more conventional (it is an urban interface type rig).

Peoria, Arizona has 9 Rosenbauers, with four more ordered. Haven't really heard anything bad about them.

(5) Spartan/Rosenbauer pumpers in service (2010 (x2), 2011 (x2), 2012 (x1))

(1) 2013 Freightliner/Rosenbauer 4x4 interface pumper (Type I)

(3) 2016 Commander pumpers

(1) Commander pumper on order

(1) Commander MMT on order

(1) Freightliner chassis (4 door) medium rescue (walk around) on order

(1) Freightliner chassis (2 door) medium rescue (walk in, IIRC) on order
