According to what I've been hearing and the Seagrave website, yes the LAFD is getting 13 more. Last I heard LAFD said they weren't buying anymore Seagraves, oh well might have changed their minds.

I believe they were not going to purchase anymore Seagraves until they evaluated the last group they got with the new cab. The rumor I heard at the time was that LAFD had a lot to do with the design etc, and Seagraves was going to do whatever they could not lose them as a customer. Can't guarantee this is correct, but it's the last I heard.

I was at the LAFD Shops about two weeks ago and they listed 13 Pierce triples yet to be delivered and 13 Seagrave triples yet to be delivered. The bid was split again as the bid price was so close. Also listed as "on order" on their apparatus board were 14 American LaFrance aerials (three of which had already gone in service at the time I was there), two brush trucks, six suburbans, one USAR tender, one HazMat Tender, and two crash trucks. LAFD Air Operations also has two Bell AW139 helicopters on order.

The 14 ALF ladder trucks will carry LAFD #'s 60691 thru 60704.

The 2 Ford F350 brush trucks will carry LAFD shop #'s 60705 & 60706.

The 1 Ford F650 HM tender has been assigned to Station 94 and is shop #60707

The 13 Pierce triples will carry shop #'s 60708 thu 60720.

The 13 Pierce triples will carry shop #'s 60721 thru 60733.

The 1 Ford F750 USAR tender with crew cab will carry shop #70734.

The 2 Bell AW319 helicopters will carry shop #'s 70098 and 70099.

Hope that helps.

The LAFD is also experimenting with a new EMS Supervisor vehicle to be assigned to EMS-14. It is a 2007 Ford/Master Body vehicle, LAFD Shops #04353.

Here is one of the new LAFD American LaFrance 100-foot ladder trucks, LAFD Shop#60701, out in the LAFD shop yards. It was yet to be assigned when I was there.

Thanks for the updated info firebuff55407. BTW about the experimental EMS Supervisor truck, there was another built for eval by the battalion chiefs. Don't know what happened to it. Last seen, it was marked for Battalion 5.

JFong,

The former BC 5 buggy is in the rear of FS 55 in Eagle Rock. It is visible from the street, but it is behind a locked gate.

Another shot of E212. Looks like the same location, which is right in back of the station.
