Fairfax County has 2 Pierce Velocity Hazmat Units due soon and will replace the Pierce and Spartan Hazmat Units . The 2009 Pierce will become Reserve and both Spartan Hazmats will be sold .The 2nd Spartan Hazmat is currently a Reserve .

Newport News has taken delivery of 2 Pierce Arrow XT Pumpers at Engine 2 and Squad 11...........It is anticipated to have them in service in October . Here is a shot taken in the rain upon their delivery .

With my Vacation coming to a end, I was able to catch up around Virginia . I will start off with the latest in Fairfax County .

Vienna has repainted their Brush and added a new skid

Baileys Crossroads placed a New Urban Style Pumper in service within the last several weeks replacing a 2003 Pierce Dash which was marked in the volunteer color of lime green .It was sold somewhere in Argentina . This unit is a one of kind compared to all other county rigs being Velocity . Not sure if anymore Enforcers will be purchased .

Back during the Blizzard of 2010,former Station 10 had a roof collapse of the apparatus bay and eventually had a New Firehouse built on the same site which opened back in the Fall of 2014 .

I was able to finally catch Engine 413 B which was unable to be moved during my Fall 2016 trip......Will be replaced in 2018 and I am hearing the new color scheme for Dunn Loring will be dark blue over red, which they have a new utility truck already marked as such .

Sometimes in this hobby I have found particular rigs and even certain stations are just plain HARD to catch or have luck . Burke Station 14 is one of them as I have struggled to catch certain rigs assigned . Engine 414 recently placed a 2016 Pierce Velocity Pumper in service and I guess the 4th try worked !
