1-1-2018 LAS VEGAS, NV STRUCTURE FIRE
#1
Around 4:50 p.m. (exact time of alarm 4:53 pm) Las Vegas Fire and Rescue Units were toned out for a structure fire at 5816 Vegas Drive. Fire Dispatch stated that they had received numerous calls and could hear screaming in the background, they also stated that there was one person reported trapped in the structure. I headed out hearing that and all they way there I listened as Command was dealing with a large amount of fire. By the time the first arriving companies were on the scene the person trapped had managed to escape the structure. Two people were treated and released on the scene for Smoke Inhalation and a pet Cat perished in the fire.

At one point and time Command called for Engine 3 (Which now has the 2014 Pierce Quantum Snozzle that use to be Engine 1) to deploy their Snozzle. The Command office was worried about exposures and special called two additional Engine Companies.

This is what I saw as I walked up to the scene. The fire attack crews called Knockdown just as I was walking up.

A firefighter from Heavy Rescue 44 checks for hot spots. I shot this photo from across the street with a Tamron 70-300 mm lens.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one who looks like their morning pride gear is about 10 sizes too small.

Good pictures.

My immediate first thought on this rig was that it looks like the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree of Fire Engines. Poor thing.

Nice shots! That Scott bottle is kind of stubby, is it an 60 min cylinder?

I am not sure. The next time I am at Station 44 I will find out.
