LA City FD Engine 217 (also at Station 27 on March 18, 1986 Seagrave 1500/500, LAFD #60428, Seagrave #T79612. I also heard a rumor that when new Station 4 is completed, the appararus from Station 17 and Station 4 may switch stations. Anyone else heard this rumor?

Thats news to me. I heard that FS 4 was supposed to have HQ or Fire Dispatch built into the same building.

I just realised I made a mistake when posting the list of apparatus on order for the City of Los Angeles. The LAFD has 13 Pierce triples on order (#60708-60720) and 13 Seagrave triples (#60721-60733). Sorry for the typo error.

So does the LAFD returned to the practice of assigning two Engines of an order to Task Force? I do understand for a while they discontinue this practice so all regular Engines had enclose cabs for the purpose saftey while fighting wildfires.



Also is Station 9 still has it Task Force set up where Engine 9 and Engine 209 are fully staff? How many men run on Ladder 9?



Is the LAFD looking into making any of their other busy Task Forces set up like this? In which Engine 9, Engine 209, and Ladder 9 respond independent of each other. Meaning they could in theory respond to three seperate incidents. Now on this does mean that Ladder 9 responds without a Pump (200 series Engine) which isn't unheard of at times when at times those Engines can be 'pressed' into service as the Engine for the station when it is OSS for short period of times. I do remember seeing a story about one of the 200 series Engine involved in accident as it was responding as the Engine of the Task Force since the Engine was OSS.
