Onondaga County, NY

I recently met up with Eric Fellows (Eric's Fire Pics) along with our sons for a weekend tour of Onondaga County in central New York. 

Onondaga County is a diverse county, with a very active urban department (Syracuse) and a large number of volunteer and composite stations covering dense urban to very rural districts.

Friday afternoon we met at the Plainville Fire Department station 1, where the department brought all 7 vehicles from their 3 stations together for group photos.

Engine 4 runs from station 1 and is a 2012 Spartan/4 Guys 1750/1500

Tanker 1 (TA-1) is a 2000 International/4 Guys 1000/2300 that runs from station 1

Rescue 5 is a 2005 International/4 Guys that runs from station 1

Station 2 runs Engine 2, a 1999 HME/4 Guys 1500/1500 that was purchased from the Conklin, NY FD

Mini 7 runs from station 2 and is a 2018 Dodge/Wildkat 125/200

Station 3 runs Engine 3, a 2017 Spartan/Toyne 1750/1500

Squad 6, a 2017 Chevrolet also calls station 3 home.

Our second stop of the day was at Seneca River FD, where we shot Rescue Pump 1, a 1993 Freightliner/E-One 1500/1000

Engine 4 is also a 1993 Freightliner but was built by KME and has a 1500/1000

Squad 2 is a 1997 Freightliner/Marion, formerly Lancaster, PA

Many departments run vehicles as Miscellaneous, and Seneca River is no exception. Miscellaneous 3 is a 2001 Chevrolet

Seneca River's chief car. They also run a small fire/rescue boat.

Once we were finished at Seneca River, the storms moved in and that was it for day 1!

Saturday morning we went to the Brewerton Fire Department where we met the chief at station 1. The clouds were playing with us all morning as we toured along.

Brewerton Car 1 is a 2016 Ford

Engine 1 is a 2007 Sutphen 1500/350/30/70 foot. This truck will be moving to station 2 in 2020 as the department has purchased a 2010 Sutphen 100 foot tower that will be picked up in 2020.

Engine 3 is a 2015 Sutphen 1500/1000/35

Rescue 7 is a 2011 Sutphen/SVI heavy rescue

Rescue 6 is still in service, and is the departments dive rescue unit. This 1986 Ford L/Saulsbury is in immaculate condition

And then the clouds rolled in for a bit. Squad 5 is this 2013 Ford/Jerome

Brewerton station 2 runs 2 units, Engine 2 is this 2005 Sutphen 1500/700, formerly a demo.
