After much talk from GA_Dave, I finally remembered to create an account here! My name is Avery Guthrie. Like Dave, I am based out of metro Atlanta. I've been photographing rigs since middle school (I'm about to graduate college now), but just got a professional camera last year. Since then, I have shot many rigs around metro Atlanta and all over, sometimes even with Dave.

On a church trip at the beginning of this summer, I had about 20 minutes of free time. I knew of a rig in the area that had been on my bucket list to shoot ever since I'd seen a picture of it. Weather wasn't the best, but I took the opportunity anyways!

Before I got my camera in Novemeber, I shot apparatus with my phone camera for many years. Considering phone photos were never the best, I never really cared how apparatus were positioned or placed. I also never cared to get specs, which I regret to an extent.

One of the places I shot with my phone was Memphis, TN. I spent 3 spring breaks here on church trips, but managed to squeeze in some stations visits while I was in town. I built many connections and hope to return sometime soon. Here is probably my best shot I got of Memphis rigs. All of them can be found on my Smugmug (linked in my first post).
