706 RIDGE STREET, FREELAND, PA 7-22-2020 QUICK KNOCKDOWN
#1
I was able to catch part of the action this evening as the Freeland Volunteer Fire Department and several other departments were paged out for a structure fire. Freeland arrived on the scene and struck the box for a working fire. I made it about half way to the fire when they called knockdown. I was able to hook up with another fire photog and get a few shots. Sorry guys no flame but some good shots of the brothers in action.

I had to park about a half a mile away and was able to get this shot of White Haven Fire Engine 63

While I was there I was introduced to the Freeland Fire Chief and was asked not to be a stranger. Great guy. Here are two of the same photo one in Black and White and one in color.

Now for a little bit of a back story for this photo. The young lady in the photo is a fourth generation firefighter for Freeland. She was introduced to me as a very good firefighter. She stopped by the fire scene with her son and he was able to wear one of the guys fire helmets. I was with another fire photog at the time Bill Barr and both of us snapped pictures of the young mother and her son. I showed her the photo and promised I would send it to her. This was the first photo I processed and sent it to the department via Facebook. She sent me a message back less than ten minutes later thanking me.

I think the family tradition will continue.

Last photo is of a friend of mine Bill Barr and a couple of members of the Freeland Fire Department. Bill has been helping me get known in the area and is a Fire Ground Photographer for several of the local departments. He also documents a lot of the scenes for the departments and is a firefighter himself.
