This & That from Here & There
By late afternoon, the weather had improved to our southwest, so we headed back towards our home base, picking up a few more rigs in WV and VA.

Friday arrived with sunny skies.  Earlier in the week, we had obtained the contact number for the Chief of Stanardsville and we arranged for someone to pose apparatus for us.  As our driver started to pull out the first one, their tones dropped for a MVC.  In the meantime, we headed over to Ruckersville, but could not locate anyone, so we returned to Stanardsville.  We still had a pretty good wait before our driver returned.

Our next stop was Shenandoah.  We had stopped during the thunderstorm on Wednesday and spoke with the Chief, who told us that there would be members there on Friday morning, but there were none there when we arrived.  We continued to Stanley.

The guys at Stanley put us in contact with the Chief at Luray, our next target.  He was unable to meet us but said he would send someone to meet us there.  When we arrived at their station, no one was there, so we waited and scoped out a spot for photos.  About ten minutes later, a member pulled up, but it turned out he was not a driver, nor the guy the Chief had called.  He opened up for us and we began gathering specs.  There were seven apparatus that we wanted to shoot.  A little while later, another guy shows up.  When asked if he was the one the Chief sent, he said he was, but he went to the kitchen and began to eat his lunch he had brought.  No really big deal, maybe he was really hungry.  After about 30 minutes, the other member went to see what he was doing.  When the guy comes back out, he says the Chief had just told him to open the doors for us and never mentioned moving any apparatus, which is not the conversation we had with the Chief.  We asked him if he would do so anyway, but he couldn't be bothered.  We wasted over an hour and missed out on seven rigs!
From there, we headed to a catch a few new rigs in Shenandoah County, then over to explore Rappahannock County.

We stopped at several stations in Rappahannock County, but found no one home, except at Washington.  After shooting their four rigs, we headed towards our home base, but never found anything else to shoot.

After checking out of the resort Saturday morning, Jon and I enjoyed a leisurely breakfast at the Thunderbird Cafe in McGaheysville before heading home.  I caught a few additional rigs on the trip.  Lexington had been on our list, but we had never made it there.  They have four apparatus that I would have shot, but only two were available.  When I stopped at Wytheville last year, one rig was wrapped in bunting for a funeral later that day and I didn't shoot it, but added it this year.  I had also stopped at Weaverville, NC last year to get their new rigs, but was unsuccessful, so I tried again.
