Fairburn was using this loaner engine while their 2007 Velocity was out for rehab.  It is a 2008 Pierce Contender 1250/500, #20555.  It was previously Engine 9 with Waco, TX.  Fairburn even put their own graphics on it.

Back in Post 11 of this thread, one can find  a shot of this rig when it was new.  In 2021, it was refurbished and repainted as part of a major overhaul to the growing Fairburn FD fleet.  It is still running from Fairburn Station 21, but will be assigned to Station 23 as soon as it is complete.

Fairburn also had this 2007 Pierce Velocity refurbished in 2022.  Besides paint and graphics, the 111 mirrors were replaced with a more conventional style.  This was Engine 22 and is now assigned as Engine 24 and will be assigned to Station 24 upon it's completion.  It was previously shown on this thread in Post 475.

Glad to see you got to get the new one Dave! They also have a nearly identical one at Engine 1 that replaced the KME that they had so many problems with. I can't remember if you shot that one or not.

We're actually toying with the idea of moving back to the area when I retire from Jacksonville in 4-5 years.

I tried to get E-1 before going to Station 6. When I got to Station 1, it was there. As I walked into an open bay door, tones dropped for a woods fire for E-6. The first guy I saw, went to find the driver for E-1. As the driver grabbed the door handle to get in, tones dropped again, this time for E-1 on an EMS call. I told him I'd wait for them to return to get my pic. The guy I had seen first was on the Truck crew. He and I sat and gabbed while I waited. A while later, we heard radio traffic that E-6 had cleared their call. Just after that, E-1 cleared their call and were immediately toned for busted water pipes. It did not sound like they would be returning anytime soon, so I opted to just go on to Station 6. E-1 is still on my target list.

I found this one sitting at the LaGrange FD training center on my way home after shooting Troup County T-1.  No one was available to ask and all the ID tags were missing.  I have contacted the LFD for the missing info.  This may or may not be one that I have previously photographed, but it was my final shot of 2022.

Yesterday kicked off the 2023 apparatus photo season for me.  It was a beautiful day, with nary a cloud and temps in the mid 60's.  I wish they were all that way!
