Hey guys,

I have been wondering about something on the Verdugo Departments BC buggies of late. Of the ones I have seen in person or here on the site, most have "RIC" on the side near the rear doors. I understand that RIC stands for Rapid Intervention Company, but what is the designation on the buggy for?

Kinda hard to call Long Beach, the 5th largest city in CA, a small city <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' /> (And the largest city in the US not to have it's own news station)

I'll add a couple.

Fillmore E91, CA. One of the last predominantly volunteer FDs left in SoCal. (They staff 1 BC and a paramedic squad 24/7)

And just down the 126 from Fillmore, Santa Paula, which was also a VFD for a long time. They've moved more to a paid department, with 2 full time stations and call FFs to fill out the department.

This is from what I understand, this was the first Ferrara in service west of the Missisippi.
